Pt III, Line 31The elementary school (grades 1 through 6) in Bumban village has
360 students & 8 teachers & has been operational for many years.
A mid-day meal was provided on school-days to all students &
teachers for the entire year. Each of the 8 teachers was provided
a monthly bonus to supplement their salary, as an incentive to
teach more enthusiastically. For 6th grade students appearing
for the high-school entrance examination, the examination fee
of $5 per student was paid for 50 students.
Construction of a building for a new High School (grades 7
through 12) was started & completed in 2012. The new
Bumban High School building covers approximately 9,000 square feet,
has 6 classrooms, the school has a Library/Computer center,
Science Lab, Teacher's Lounge and restrooms with flushing
toilets & running water. The entire building has electrical
connections in all the rooms & the grid is currently supplies
by a generator housed in a newly-built, separate Kitchen/Generator
building that is approximately 450 square feet.
The kitchen, though not modern, is equipped to make mid-day
meals for up to 800 people. A newly built water tower has a
water tank atop it & provides running water for the entire
facility. A water pump draws water from a nearby well & fills
the water tank. The gasoline-powered generator provides
electricity for the water pump and the entire school building.
Bumban High School started operating on January 7, 2013
with 144 students admitted into grades 7 & 8. The school
has 9 teachers, including the Principal. It is completely

covered by Tupaddy for Education.
