| Explanation | In order to file an accurate and complete return we need to wait for 3rd party information, as our fiscal year is not a calendar year but a year based on the Jewish New Year from September to August which is our donor funds dependent year. As such we usually file for extensions and have never in recent years been late on filing our 990. As the 990 became more complicated a year or two prior we hired an outside CPA to fill out and complete the return. We thought that he understood that he would file our extensions due to our non calendar fiscal year which he was aware of but we found out too late that he did not. We were at a loss as to what to do under the circumstances. We received your notice and searched and found the Urban Institute's Form990online service and were able to finally file the form. Our intention is that a late filing will not be repeated and there were no funds do to the IRS with it. We respectfully request that no fine be assessed.
