This information is reviewed and presented annually for deliberation and decision-making by the Board of Directors.

As business is conducted and issues are addressed by staff and Board members on an ongoing basis, we monitor for conflicts and anyone who has a conflict or perceived conflict is required to recuse themselves from deliberations and decision-making.

This is documented by email correspondence and meeting minutes.
Form 990, Part VI, Line 2	Form 990, Part VI, Line 2: Description of Business or Family Relationship of Officers, Directors, Et	Peggy Milligan and Al Romeo, board members, are employed by state agencies in a capacity that could influence the awarding of contract or other funds to the UPC. They recuse themselves when appropriate.Jennie Dopp, Karen Smith, and Nancy Nelson, board members, also serve on Boards or in leadership positions for other nonprofit organizations. This service is not expected to pose a conflict; however, they chose to note it on their Conflict of Interest Statements. Should a conflict arise, they will recuse themselves from related matters that come before our Board of Directors.Adina Zahradnikova, a board member, is the Executive Director of the Disability Law Center, a nonprofit organization. The DLC and UPC collaborate about services, programs, and needs but at this time, no financial arrangement exists between the organizations. Should a situation arise that requires it, she will recuse herself when related matters come before the Board.
