| Description | The Emergency Foodshelf Network (EFN), is a nonprofit organization incorporatedunder the laws of the state of Minnesota. The mission of Emergency Foodshelf Networkis: an innovative food bank dedicated to serving the hunger needs of our changing communities. EFN provides services primarily through the following programs:Fare For All: FFA exceeded its sales budget by 4.1% or $50,000. It served 151,800 individuals. Bulk Purchasing distributed 2,505,580 pounds of food to our agency partners.Culturally Specific Initiatives: This program served 36,066 individuals and 11,969 households. This program expanded from working with 5 agency partners to working with 17 agency partners. Outgoing pounds were 271,128.Baskets of Hope: served 40,400 individuals and 5,050 households. Over 5,000 baskets (151,620 pounds of food) were distributed to families in need through our agency partners.Mobile Foodshelf: This program served 13,932 individuals and had outgoing pounds of 226,081. We added fresh produce to the monthly deliveries in 2012.Lost Harvest and Harvest for the Hungry: Our produce programs acquired over 308,000 pounds of fresh produce for our agency partners.In total, EFN and its partner agencies served +15.4% more individuals in 2012 (1,246,626 individuals). | Description |
