| Description | AS AN ENDOWMENT BUILDING AND GRANTMAKING ORGANIZATION FOR SCHOLARSHIPS AND SPECIAL PROJECTS, THE GROW SFCC FOUNDATION HELPS KEEP THE DOORS TO AFFORDABLE EDUCATION AND ACCESS TO CAREER OPPORTUNITIES OPEN TO EVERYONE WHO SEEKS TO LEARN AND GROW AT SANTA FE COMMUNITY COLLEGE. ACCESS TO EDUCATIONAL OPPORTUNITY IS A SERIOUS FINANCIAL STRUGGLE FOR MANY STUDENTS WHO STRUGGLE TO PAY FOR CLASSES, TEXTBOOKS, LAB FEES AND THE OTHER EXPENSES REQUIRED TO COMPLETE EACH SEMESTER. IN FY 2013/2013, THE GROW SFCC FOUNDATION AWARDED MORE THAN 600 FULL-TIME AND PART-TIME SCHOLARSHIPS. ADDITIONALLY, 400 STUDENTS RECEIVED SUPPORT TO PARTICIPATE IN PROGRAMS AND SPECIAL ACTIVITIES THAT SUPPORTED THEIR EDUCATIONAL GOALS. PHILANTHROPIC ACTIVITIES SUPPORTED INITIATIVES ADDRESSING AND ENSURING ACCESS TO EDUCATION FOR NATIVE AMERICAN, HISPANIC AND LOW-INCOME STUDENTS, AS WELL AS WOMEN IN TRANSITION AND OLDER, NON-TRADITIONAL STUDENTS. THE AMOUNT AWARDED WAS 601,090.00. ENDOWED SCHOLARSHIPS: THE GROW SFCC FOUNDATION AWARDED 172,869 IN 2013 TO STUDENTS PURSUING DEGREES ACROSS A WIDE RANGE OF ACADEMIC STUDY INCLUDING ACCOUNTING, NURSING, CULINARY AND FINE ARTS, ENVIRONMENTAL SCIENCES AND MORE. CONTRACT FOR A BETTER TOMORROW (CBT) SUPPORTS WORKING STUDENTS WHO ARE THE FIRST IN THEIR FAMILIES TO ATTEND COLLEGE. THE CBT PROGRAM PROVIDED SCHOLARSHIPS TO FINANCIALLY VULNERABLE, FIRST-GENERATION COLLEGE STUDENTS IN THE AMOUNT OF 100,000. THE DREAMKEEPERS EMERGENCY PROGRAM PROVIDED 30,000 IN EMERGENCY FUNDS TO STUDENTS WHO HAVE UNFORESEEN EXPENSES THAT MAY PREVENT THEM FROM ACHIEVING THEIR EDUCATIONAL GOALS. THESE EMERGENCY FUNDS HELP STUDENTS KEEP THEIR EYES ON THE PRIZE - GRADUATING AND MAKING A BETTER LIFE FOR THEMSELVES AND THEIR FAMILIES. IN FY2012/2013, THE GROW SFCC FOUNDATION HELPED SFCC CONTINUE TO BE THE EDUCATIONAL RESOURCE IN SANTA FE FOR A CHANGING ECONOMY AND A GROWING COMMUNITY. THE FOUNDATION WORKED TO BUILD ITS ENDOWMENT SO THAT MORE WORTHY STUDENTS ARE ABLE TO BECOME TEACHERS, NURSES, ENTREPRENEURS, ENVIRONMENTAL PLANNERS AND TECHNICIANS, ARTISTS, EMERGENCY MEDICS AND MORE. | Description |

CONTRACT FOR A BETTER TOMORROW (CBT) SUPPORTS WORKING STUDENTS WHO ARE THE FIRST IN THEIR FAMILIES TO ATTEND COLLEGE. THE CBT PROGRAM PROVIDED SCHOLARSHIPS TO FINANCIALLY VULNERABLE, FIRST-GENERATION COLLEGE STUDENTS IN THE AMOUNT OF 100,000. THE DREAMKEEPERS EMERGENCY PROGRAM PROVIDED 30,000 IN EMERGENCY FUNDS TO STUDENTS WHO HAVE UNFORESEEN EXPENSES THAT MAY PREVENT THEM FROM ACHIEVING THEIR EDUCATIONAL GOALS.
