Description	Community Trails - In FY13, GVLTs Community Trails Program continued with its mission to connect people, communities, and the land through collaborative trail projects. In our 23-year history, GVLT has helped create over 67 miles of trail. In FY13 we worked with a great diversity of partners to complete a variety of projects to expand, improve and maintain Bozemans Main Street to the Mountains trail system, including adding 5 miles of new trail into our system at Highland Glen Nature Preserve in partnership with the City of Bozeman and Bozeman Deaconess Health Services; installing a new, flagship bridge to connect neighborhoods with the Sourdough Trail, and completing new trail connections at Bozeman Pond. Description	Conservation Easements - GVLT collaborated with a family to conserve 3,860-acres of relatively natural wildlife habitat, working ranchland, and scenic open space adjacent to public lands and other conserved lands in Park County, Montana. This brings our total conserved land to over 42,000 acres in 89 conservation easements and is a milestone in our goal of protecting the most important private lands in our service area. As an accredited land trust, we provided stewardship and monitoring to every conservation easement that we hold and maintained records of our stewardship work. We also continued with outreach to landowners in our priority focus areas, providing information about conservation options and assisting landowners with cost-share funding when possible. Description	Education - GVLT provided several educational programs for various organizations and at many community events throughout the year. We also publish a monthly E-Newsletter that reaches over 1,700 addresses. GVLTs Annual Report reached more than 2,200 community members. The GVLT website is updated bi-monthly with current news relating to community trails, private land conservation and events open to the public. We have a Facebook page and can also be followed on Twitter. We had over 3,555 volunteer hours for the organization in the year, and all volunteers are educated about the mission and accomplishments of GVLT during their service.	Description

Part V, Line 4	Part V, Line 4: Intended uses of the endowment fund.	Endowment Funds are depositories for special gifts received by GVLT for endowment purposes. The principal of such special gifts will be permanently restricted, the income from which may be used for the needs of GVLT. Endowment Funds are to be responsibly managed to allow for accumulation and income for expenditure to accomplish the organizations charitable purposes. These purposes include, but are not limited to, the protection, preservation and enhancement of the lands adjacent to river and creek corridors, wildlife habitat, recreational opportunities, scenic open space, agricultural lands and historic sites; to acquire real and personal property including easements and conservation easements; and to acquire, conserve, hold and dispose of land and interests in land.

Conservation easements accepted by Gallatin Valley Land Trust (GVLT) are not recorded as assets or revenues because the conservation easements provide the land trust with no affirmative rights other than monitoring and enforcing the easement.
Part II, Line 5	Part II, Line 5 - Summarized Policy	The Gallatin Valley Land Trust is accredited by the national Land Trust Accreditation Commission. GVLT's Monitoring Policy mandates annual monitoring of all conservation easement properties, including personal site visits and interviews with the landowner. It also requires permanent documentation of the monitoring visit and regular communications with landowners. GVLT's Violations Policy emphasizes tools to help prevent violations and outlines the procedure should a violation occur, including the role of staff and Board of Directors, and describes possible enforcement actions.GVLT's template conservation easement reflects our Monitoring and Violations Policies in standard language about access for monitoring (Section 7), baseline documentation reports (Section 9), Prior Notice and Approval (Section 4), and Breach and Restoration (Section 5).
