| Desc | EDUCATION AND AUDIENCE-The museum engages audiences as collaborators, storytellers, and supporters of history. The museum facilitates dialogue among our visitors. It organizes and presents school programs. We provided 63 teacher workshops that assist with the development of curriculum for students. These programs were attended by 2,310 teachers. The institution pursues these areas through audience development and strives to encourage program participation with families, young adults, our members and schools. The museum seeks to give context to the history for all audiences to better represent the people, places, events and experiences of Chicago. In FY14 62,236 K-12 students visited the museum, along with more than 249,818 visitors, we provide adult education programs, film screenings and public history tours of the many areas of City of Chicago. We have created online resources on many history topics including "Facing Freedom Challenges to Democracy", "Sensing Chicago" and the "Great Chicago Fire". The museum also served nearly 2,000 students through our off-site Park Voyagers program that we coordinate at Chicago Park District's field houses through out the city. | Desc |

| Desc | COLLECTIONS AND RESEARCH The museum seeks to utilize the museum's premier collections, including our unparalleled collection of Abraham Lincoln materials. The institution seeks to discover the power of the original historical materials and to improve access and maximize the collections. It allows people to engage and make a personal connection to history and the artifacts represented. It makes these materials available to the public through multiple platforms, such as our archives, library and on line resource. The museum's 22 million collection is a treasured history collection. It includes the second largest costume collection in the world, the Hedrich Blessing photography collection, a Betsy Ross flag, and the complete oral library of Studs Terkel interviews, which we are now in the process of a digitization project on those stories. Efforts are ongoing to photograph, digitize and catalogue the collection to make it more accessible to visitors, students, and researchers. The Research Center has served more than 8,195 patrons in FY14. The museum provides digital access for 2 million annual online users. The Research Center is a resource for the Chicago History Fair, this is annual event for participants to compete in the National History Day. | Desc | EXHIBITS The key component of an exhibit is communicating Chicago's stories to our visitors. To provide the stories in multiple languages in the exhibition text panels along with photos, videos and the historic artifacts. These enable the visitor to explore the concepts of history. The exhibits are designed, fabricated and installed so that our audience is interpreting and interacting in history. In addition to our permanent exhibitions such as "Chicago: Crossroads of America" and "Lincoln's Chicago" and the Diorama Hall. The history museum presents topical exhibitions that focus on the stories of Chicago's many diverse communities.
