Human Needs Projects integrated water and sanitation program and services provide a holistic solution to the challenges of living in slums, including a lack of clean drinking water, proper showers or sanitation services and washing machines to minimize wasted hours washing clothes. Together, these basic services are radically improving the health, income and livelihood of children, women and families in slums.2. Human Needs Projects education and empowerment program provides computer skills training course which has helped more than 275 graduates attend 19 computer courses. Nearly 100% of all graduates have been invited to a job interview and more than 50% have been hired within one month of graduating. With high-speed internet and more than 30 computers at the Kibera Town Centre, Human Needs Project and its program partner, Sama School, are expanding its program to offer access to online academies and online job opportunities, as well as adding classes on specific skills, such as videography, web design and basic computer networking.3. Human Needs Projects Artists Academy which offers career development courses for entertainment artists allows artists to become agents of change. | Desc | Road to Freedom Scholarship (RFS) is managed through the accounts of Human Needs Project in Kenya. Education is a cornerstone of RFS mission to provide education to children living in extreme poverty. RFS is committed to providing children access to an elite education, removing the child from the stresses and dangers of the abject poverty of the slum, while maintaining the childs all-important family and sociocultural ties. The program supports school tuitions, books, materials, school clothing, transport and school trips. In addition, they receive three meals a day, access to clean water and medical care, and safety from violence and sexual assault. RFS sponsors 14 children at a two boarding school in Nairobi safe from neglect, hunger, and violence who are being educated at the highest standards to become leaders of their communities and voices of change. One student are at day school/nursery care in Nairobi, and one student just graduated from Dominican University.
