THE MISSION OF THE SOCIETY IS TO PROMOTE AND ADVANCE THE ART AND SCIENCE OF DENTISTRY AND THE INTEREST OF THE MEMBER DENTISTRY RELATIVE TO THE PRACTICE OF DENTISTRY AND TO REPRESENT MEMBERS IN RELATIONSHIPS WITH THIRD PARTIES AND WITH AGENCIES OF FEDERAL, STATE AND LOCAL GOVERNMENT. THE MDS FOUNDATION IS DEDICATED TO DIRECTING ITS CHARITABLE RESOURCES TO IMPROVE THE ORAL HEALTH OF MASSACHUSETTS RESIDENTS. IT PROVIDES WAYS TO HELP THE SOCIETY'S MEMBERS GIVE BACK TO THE COMMUNITY BY DEVELOPING AND COORDINATING ORAL HEALTH OUTREACH PROGRAMS BENEFITING POPULATIONS IN NEED.
PART IV, SECTION E, LINE 2BTHE MASSACHUSETTS DENTAL SOCIETY WOULD HAVE DIRECTED ITS CHARITABLE RESOURCES TO IMPROVE THE ORAL HEALTH OF MASSACHUSETTS RESIDENTS BUT FOR MDS FOUNDAITON'S INVOLVEMENT.
PART IV, SECTION D, LINE 3SOME OF THE FOUNDATION'S BOARD MEMBERS SERVED ON THE BOARD OF THE SUPPORTED ORGANIZATION. THE MANAGEMENT OF THE SUPPORTED ORGANIZATION OVERSEES THE INVESTMENTS OF THE FOUNDATION AND DIRECTS THE INVESTMENT DECISIONS OF THE ENDOWMENTS. THESE SHARED BOARD MEMBERS AND MANAGEMENT ALSO ARE PART OF THE DECISION MAKING GROUP THAT DECIDES WHEN AND IF SOME ASSETS OF THE FOUNDATIONS SHOULD BE DIRECTED TO THE SUPPORTED ORGANIZATION.
