DescCommunity Choice Energy (CCE) for California: CCE is a local program enabled by state law that buys and generates electricity for businesses and residents. CCE is one of the most powerful measures a local community can take to significantly and rapidly reduce its greenhouse gas emissions. In addition, Community Choice accelerates renewable energy deployment, stabilizes electricity rates, stimulates the local the economy, creates green jobs, and develops a more resilient energy system. Its a public-private partnership, where the existing investor-owned utility maintains transmission lines, and the locally controlled Community Choice entity sets electricity rates and procures power. The Center for Climate Protection (CCP) spreads this powerful program to communities throughout California. Continued on Schedule O.Desc

Form 990, Part III, Line 4d: Other Program Services DescriptionOTHER PROGRAM SERVICES 4: ECO2school: ECO2school is a service-learning program teaching climate literacy and leadership skills to high school students. Teens promote walking and biking transportation to their peers to reduce emissions and achieve long-term personal, community, and environmental health. In 2015, ECO2school worked in 13 high schools and reached 12,044, students. Of these, 7,507 students participated in at least one behavior change action to reduce their carbon footprint. The shift in students modes of transportation resulted in a 7 percent average reduction in vehicle miles traveled and greenhouse gas emissions across the schools in the program, and a total reduction of 33,557 miles driven. OTHER PROGRAM SERVICES 5: Solar Sonoma County: In 2015, CCP took over Solar Sonoma County, another local non-profit organization. Our Clean Energy Advocate program provides property owners with objective information, refers them to vendors weve vetted, and helps them navigate the solar market.Tracking Progress: As we have done since 2004, CCP issued a report card of Sonoma Countys greenhouse gas emissions. The report shows emissions by sector (transportation, electricity, natural gas, and solid waste), the overall trend since 1990, and the progress toward Sonoma Countys 25% GHG reduction target for 2015. OTHER PROGRAM SERVICES 6: Business for Clean Energy: We partner with about 60 business members to leverage the business communitys leadership to foster creative climate solutions. We spread their stories about their green innovations in the media, and convene them quarterly to share successes, best practices, and inspiration. OTHER PROGRAM SERVICES 7: Community Choice Energy (CCE) for California: CCE is a local program enabled by state law that buys and generates electricity for businesses and residents. Continued on Schedule O. OTHER PROGRAM SERVICES 8: CCE, continuedAfter helping successfully launch Sonoma Clean Power in 2014, CCP has worked in Silicon Valley since 2013 to educate government, business, and community leaders about the benefits of Community Choice. We educated the mayor of San Jose, other local elected officials, and their staff about Community Choice Energy. We educated local groups such as Joint Venture Silicon Valley about the issue, and partnered with them to conduct community outreach. We received funding from the Logan Foundation to work in the Central Valley to educate the environmental justice about the benefits of Community Choice Energy. In 2015 we laid the groundwork for our second statewide Community Choice symposium, the Business of Local Energy, held March 2016 in San Jose.
