DescDURING 2016, THROUGH A NETWORK OF VOLUNTEERS AND FOSTER HOMES, 500 CATS AND KITTENS WERE RESCUED (INCLUDING APPROXIMATELY 420 FROM OVER CROWDED SHELTERS IN NORTH CAROLINA, SOUTH CAROLINA, LOUISIANA AND WEST VIRGINIA). OF THESE, 478 CATS AND KITTENS FROM FOREVER HOMES. 211 CATS AND KITTENS BELONGING TO LOW INCOME PEOPLE WERE SPAYED, NEUTERED AND VACCINATED FREE OF CHARGE. THIS INCLUDED DOOR TO DOOR PICK UP AND DELIVERY AND TRANSPORTATION TO AND FROM THE SPAY/NEUTER CLINIC. VOLUNTEERS ALSO ASSISTED AT SPAY/NEUTER EVENTS IN CALAIS, MAINE AND RUTLAND, VERMONT. AT THESE EVENTS A TOTAL OF 128 CATS AND KITTENS WERE SPAYED, NEUTERED AND VACCINATED FREE OF CHARGE. THE ORGANIZATION ALSO PARTNERED WITH LOCAL LAW ENFORCEMENT (LOCAL ANIMAL CONTROL OFFICERS) TO RESCUE SICK AND ABANDONED CATS.Desc
