| Desc | THE FUNCTION OF THE FOUNDATION IS TO RAISE FUNDS ON BEHALF OF SPECIAL OLYMPICS MISSOURI, INC., IN ORDER TO ALLOW THEM TO MEET THEIR SHORT TERM GOALS OF PROVIDING SPORTS TRAINING AND ATHLETIC COMPETITION SERVICES TO ITS ATHLETES LOCATED THROUGHOUT THE STATE AND THEIR LONG TERM GOALS OF ESTABLISHING A VIABLE FOUNDATION TO PROVIDE SUPPORT TO SOMO AND ITS ATHLETES IN THE YEARS TO COME. TO THIS END, SOMO WILL SUBSTANTIALLY INCREASE ITS CAPACITY TO SERVE INDIVIDUALS THROUGH A STATE-OF-THE-ART TRAINING FOR LIFE CAMPUS (TLC). THIS WORLD-CLASS, 34,000 SQUARE-FOOT FACILITY WILL BE BUILT ON 16.5 ACRES IN JEFFERSON CITY, MO, CENTRALLY LOCATED FOR THE 15,312 SOMO ATHLETES AND THE 106,758 WHO ARE NOT YET PARTICIPATING IN THE PROGRAM. AS OF DECEMBER 31, 2016, SEF MET THEIR GOAL TO BUILD THE FIRST PHASE OF THE TRAINING FOR LIFE CAMPUS, WHICH INCLUDES INDOOR FACILITIES PLUS ONE OUTDOOR FIELD. CONSTRUCTION IS SCHEDULED TO BEGIN IN MAY. THE CURRENT CAMPAIGN TO COMPLETE THE TRAINING FOR LIFE CAMPUS BUILDING AND OUTDOOR FIELDS PLUS PURCHASE SPORTS EQUIPMENT IS 2.2 MILLION AWAY FROM COMPLETION. CONSTRUCTION OF THE TRAINING FOR LIFE CAMPUS LOOKS FORWARD TO OPENING IN THE FALL OF 2018. SOMO IS OFFERING MDFB 50% TAX CREDITS (MINIMUM $1,000 DONATION) AND NAP CREDITS (MINIMUM $2,500 DONATION), TO INDIVIDUALS AND BUSINESSES MEETING THE CREDIT CRITERIA. ALMOST $1.35 MILLION MDFB CREDITS REMAIN ($2.7 MILLION VALUE) AND $495,000 NAP TAX CREDITS REMAIN ($990,000 VALUE). ADDITIONAL NAMING OPPORTUNITIES ARE STILL AVAILABLE.
