| Desc | Around the Block is a Kids Matter International program whose mission is to address the clothing needs of disadvantaged and underprivileged school age children. It is accomplished through a partnership with Kohls Department Stores, local Title I schools, and agencies that help identify those children in need. Funds are provided through individuals, businesses, and other local organizations. For a majority of children, this is the first time they are receiving new clothes as opposed to hand-me-downs. School counselors have informed us that this program is the only known available program meeting the clothing needs of these children and that it positively impacts the self-esteem of the children. | Desc |

| Form 990, Part III, Line 4d: Other Program Services Description | OTHER PROGRAM SERVICES 4: KMI-India Orphanage: Kids Matter supports an orphanage in India which houses 24 children, ages 3 16. The children receive nourishing and healthy meals, clothing, emotional support, and caring attention from a staff dedicated to their protection, health and well-being. With financial help from Kids Matter International, the orphanage has expanded its facilities to include a computer room and an area for classes. Funds have also been provided to host children at vacation bible school and celebrate holidays such as Thanksgiving and Christmas. OTHER PROGRAM SERVICES 5: Kids Matter International works with a number of other organizations such as the Barbara Bush Foundation, Miracle League, Grapevine/Colleyville Independent School District, Lone Star Arts Competition for Youth, Congressional Arts Competition for Youth, Community Storehouse, All Church Home, Passages of Youth, etc to support and encourage at-risk children throughout the communities we serve. |
