Desc	In 2016, MAG America funded MAG humanitarian demining and unexploded ordnance (UXO) clearance projects in Angola, Bosnia & Herzegovina, Cambodia, Iraq, Laos, Lebanon, South Sudan, Sri Lanka, Syria and Vietnam and MAG Small Arms and Light Weapons and Physical Security and Stockpile Management projects in Burkina Faso, Chad, Democratic Republic of Congo, Mali and Somalia. Across these 15 countries, funding from MAG America's donors achieved: the clearance and destruction of 44,647 landmines, booby traps and UXO to make contaminated land safe for agriculture, infrastructure, housing, as well as the construction of schools, medical facilities, wells and irrigation; the return of 31,323,157 million square yards of land to communities, enabling people to safely rebuild their lives; the destruction of 20,735 weapons, preventing them from falling into the wrong hands; and the delivery of 14,924 'risk education' sessions, helping people to stay safe until their land is cleared. These achievements directly benefitted over 671,000 men, women and children, allowing them to live free from fear.	Desc
