| Desc | We had success in our research process, outreach campaign, and coalition building. We focused completing and updating the first phase of our research; and publishing and promoting the Penguin Random House book. We continued to assemble a broad-based coalition of climatologists, engineers, biologists, fellows, financial analysts, architects, indigenous leaders, agronomists, activists, NGOs, and agencies to review and validate all data, models, and text.RESEARCH-During January through March, our senior Research Team continued to prepare detailed documentation of the methodology behind our modeling of the atmospheric and financial impacts of the solutions featured in Drawdown. This included documentation of the process we used to integrate the solutions into sector and global models. -During the rest of the year, our senior Research Team devoted many hours to enhancing the rigor of our methodology and refining our standard atmospheric and financial models in preparation for sharing the models more broadly and for Phase 2 of Project Drawdowns ongoing research. OUTREACH-The outcome of the first phase of our research is contained in the book, Drawdown, published in the United States by Penguin Random House in April 2017 and also published at drawdown.org. -We executed a complete redesign of our website, drawdown.org, which was launched in March. The new website has a custom design that mirrors the stunning graphics featured in Drawdown, along with the addition of extensive information about the drawdown solutions. Six months after publication of Drawdown, sales momentum was growing, not leveling off or abating, an indicator that drawdown is not a fad but a growing movement. Within a week of release, Drawdown hit #9 on the New York Times bestseller list for paperback nonfiction and returned to that list on several occasions since its debut. As of September 2017, Drawdown had risen to #20 on Amazons overall best seller list. -Drawdown has continued to receive extensive media coverage in print, radio and television. Drawdown staff participated in many live speaking engagements, interviews and podcasts.-In addition to the book Drawdown, we saw significant engagement with our research and methodology via our website, drawdown.org. During Q2 Q4, drawdown.org had 1,016,000 page views and 260,000 unique visitors. Visitors to the site came from over 13,000 cities.-Beyond publication of the book Drawdown, we implemented a comprehensive communications and engagement strategy to introduce the public to Drawdown and the results of our research project and to grow our Coalition of partners who are aligned in intent to work collaboratively to promote drawdown and reverse global warming. COALITION-As a result of worldwide response to our work, we expanded the Drawdown Coalition by forming partnerships with individuals and organizations around the world who are using the Drawdown framework as a platform for engaging their communities and constituencies. -We increased the size of our Coalition, adding the 17 new Advisors and 54 Partners. | Desc |
