BKH and NEH, as single-member limited liability companies, are treated as disregarded entities for tax purposes. Management does not consider income taxes connected with the University's unrelated business income to be significant. Financial Accounting Standards Board (FASB) Accounting Standards Codification Subtopic 740-10, Income Taxes - Overall, prescribes a recognition threshold and measurement attribute for the financial statement recognition and measurement of a tax position taken or expected to be taken in a tax return, and provides guidance on derecognition, classification, interest and penalties, and disclosure. The University believes that it has appropriate support for its tax positions taken and as such, does not have any uncertain tax positions that could result in a material impact to the consolidated financial statements.
