The Foundation is classified as an exempt organization under section 509(a)(1). The Foundation follows GAAP for uncertainty in income taxes. The Foundation's income tax filings are subject to audit by various taxing authorities. In evaluating the Foundation's activities, the Foundation believes its position of tax-exempt status is current based on current facts and circumstances. It is the policy of the Foundation to include in operating expenses penalties and interest assessed by income taxing authorities. There are no material penalties or interest from taxing authorities included in operating expenses for the years ended June 30, 2018 and 2017. |
