| Mission | THE BOSTON POLICE FOUNDATION (FOUNDATION) WAS FORMED IN 1993 AS A CHARITABLE ORGANIZATION, EXEMPT FROM TAX UNDER CODE SECTION 501(C)(3), WITH THE SPECIFIC MISSION OF ADVANCING PUBLIC SAFETY BY SUPPORTING AND FUNDING PROGRAMS THAT STRENGTHEN THE PERFORMANCE, COMPETENCE AND PROFESSIONALISM OF THE BOSTON POLICE DEPARTMENT (BPD) AND ITS OFFICERS AND MEMBERS.
