| Pt I Line 2 | First, InterMusicSF acts as a fiscal sponsor for, and receives contributions on behalf of, small music ensembles which are too small to have established their own separate IRC Section 501(c)(3) status ("affiliates"). When contributions are received on behalf of a particular organization, InterMusicSF earmarks the funds for that organization. The organization may request disbursement of the funds, in writing, for specific purposes in furtherance of its artistic projects and mission. |
| Pt I Line 2 | Second, InterMusicSF administers the Musical Grant Program. InterMusicSF raises funds from local foundations for the purpose of re-granting such funds to ensembles or individuals whose projects meet the guidelines of the program. Award recipients are selected by an independent panel whose members base their selections on written proposals and work samples submitted by the applicant. Panelists are musicians, educators, or other individuals with expertise in musical matters. No panelist is affiliated with InterMusicSF. Upon receipt of a signed contract, InterMusicSF disburses funds to award recipients, who then have 24 months to complete their project. Within three months of the completion of the project, the award recipient must submit a written report explaining in detail the use of the funds and the goals achieved in completing the project. |
