The Laboratory does not capitalize this collection of more than 2,700 strains of marine phytoplankton, bacteria, and viruses. The Laboratory holds the collection for educational and research purposes; the strains are available to the public. Proceeds from the sales of strain samples are used to maintain and preserve the collection. |
