The number of unique users who contribute research and download materials at the website http//voer.edu.vn is 50,000 to 80,000 per day 25-100 increase compared to the year 2014. In peak period, this number can reach 100,000 users. To accommodate the rising crowd of users, we have been developing further user-needed functions for our Hanoi Spring software and maintaining strong hardware with 5 servers at our data center. Graduates are leading giving productive lives across Vietnam. b Laptops for Students To invest further in their education, we have awarded laptops to first-year students. This important tool helps the students in their study, research and outreach to the world. Our limited financial resources did not allow us to provide more laptops to the students, but now with the invention of the 360 Machine laptop without screens, we will be able to give every scholarship recipient a special laptop computer without a screen suitable for their needs. This new initiative mobilizes VEF fellows to help create the next generation of scientists and engineers for Vietnam. The program offers a rigorous selection process to recommend the best candidates to US graduate schools. Our team of voluntary VEF Fellows is coaching the selectees on their graduate school applications. In final round, 16 students were accepted to top US graduate schools. |
