| Explanation | Our Executive Director, Lawrence Tharp died in May of 2021 without a succession plan and very little warning. My attempts to get mission critical information from him before he passed were unsuccessful. This left the organization in a horrible state without access to any of the documents, email accounts, contacts, bank accounts, etc. that are required to run the organization. It took a herculean effort, and a trip to Kenya where he had been living, to keep the organization running, and find all of the necessary documents to fill out the tax forms. I then submitted paper returns not fully understanding the IRS' instructions and being overwhelmed. This was the first year we have needed to do a 990 instead of a 990ez, so it took tens of hours to do the 990. I am sorry, but we did the best we could in order to get everything right.
