ON BEHALF OF ITS MEMBER COMPANIES THE ASSOCIATION NEGOTIATES COLLECTIVE AGREEMENTS WITH THE LABOR UNIONS WHICH REPRESENT THEIR EMPLOYEES WHO ARE ENGAGED IN SHIP MAINTENANCE WORK, INCLUDING MARINE CONTAINER, CHASSIS REPAIR AND RELATED WORK, IN NY AND NJ HARBORS. NEGOTIATIONS OF THESE COLLECTIVE AGREEMENTS INCLUDE RECEIPTS FROM THE UNIONS OF COLLECTIVE BARGAINING PROPOSALS, CONFERENCES WITH MEMBER COMPANIES RESPECTING THESE PROPOSALS AND THE PREPARATION IN COLLECTIVE BARGAINING CONFERENCE WITH UNION REPRESENTATIVES AND THE PREPARATION AND EXECUTION OF THE COLLECTIVE AGREEMENTS.IN ADDITION, THE ASSOCIATION ALSO PROVIDES MANAGEMENT OVERSIGHT OF A MAINTENANCE TRAINING PROGRAM FOR THE EMPLOYEES OF ITS MEMBER COMPANIES TO UPGRADE THE SKILLS IN THE AREAS OF MAINTENANCE AND ENGINEERING OF HEAVY EQUIPMENT.MissionDesc
