Desc	FRESNO DRIVE INITIATIVE: Enhancing community well-being through environmental cleanups school supplies and food distribution, community events, each aligning with the mission of the DRIVE initiative to promote race equity and foster a healthier, more sustainable Fresno community. Under the DRIVE grant, Families en Accin conducted 45 community cleanup events throughout the Fresno region. This included the removal of over 81,625 pounds of waste, with a focus on hazardous materials, trash, and debris. These efforts directly contributed to safer, cleaner, and more livable neighborhoods, specifically in underserved areas. Of these cleanups, nine were executed in collaboration with Beautify Fresno to amplify community impact. This activity aligns with the DRIVE initiatives mission to create a healthier, more vibrant community, with race equity embedded in every step to ensure these benefits reach marginalized black and brown communities in Fresno. Families en Accin furthered its commitment to economic inclusion and support by hosting 66 food distribution events, partnering with Fresno Metro Ministry and the Central California Food Bank. Through these efforts, the organization distributed 4,132 pantry packages to families facing food insecurity. This program addresses a critical need for accessible, nutritious food in low-income areas and reinforces the DRIVE initiatives emphasis on sustainable economic support for underrepresented communities. In line with the DRIVE initiatives commitment to race equity, Families en Accin prioritized community engagement to foster inclusivity and trust within the marginalized communities it serves. Through outreach efforts, the organization provided essential services and resources to residents, ensuring alignment with the DRIVE initiatives shared vision of equitable access to basic necessities and safer, cleaner living environments. Schedule B, Part 1, b	In 2022, the Education & Leadership Foundation, a not-for-profit organization, EIN: 26-0417563, served as the fiscal agent for Familias en Accion, and received a $200,000 DRIVE Grant from the Central Valley Community Foundation on behalf of Familias en Accion. The Education & Leadership Foundation reported all grant income and expenses on its own tax return for the 2022 tax year. Some of the grant funds were utilized by the Education & Leadership Foundation in 2022 and 2023 to support Familias en Accions programs, as directed. The Education & Leadership Foundation did not have any authority to determine how the funds were spent and did not have the discretion to spend the money independently. All decisions regarding the use of the grant funds were made by Familias en Accion, with the Education & Leadership Foundation merely facilitating the disbursement as instructed. In 2023, once Familias en Accion became an established organization, The Education & Leadership Foundation returned $160,137.88 of the unspent grant funds to Familias en Accion. Familias en Accion accounts for this returned amount in its 2023 financial statements and Form 990 as income, classified as a return of grant funds previously managed by a fiscal agent.
