| Desc | Congo Relief Mission Inc. (CRM) is dedicated to improving the lives of orphaned and vulnerable children in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), one of the poorest and most conflict-affected countries in the world. The DRC ranks near the bottom of the UN Human Development Index, with widespread poverty, malnutrition, and limited access to education and healthcare.In 2024, CRM continued its mission by supporting five orphanages in and around Mbujimayi, a city in the Eastern Kasai region with over three million residents and minimal infrastructure. CRM provided food, healthcare, and educational support to 228 children, ranging from newborns to 18 years old. School fees were paid for 191 children, ensuring access to primary, secondary, and in some cases, university education.CRM raised nearly $57,000 in 2024 to fund these efforts. In addition to direct support, CRM promotes sustainable nutrition through locally sourced initiatives, including the cultivation of moringa trees and development of nutritional supplements. These programs address chronic malnutrition, which affects approximately 43% of children under five in the DRC.CRMs work targets the most vulnerable populations, offering hope and essential services to children in extreme poverty.
