Funds are disbursed either as a one-time payment or in installments as needed throughout the following year via money transfers directly to the organization or its designated representative or via cash payments delivered by a CISPES Education Fund staff member or a contracted program services provider. Staff members and or program contractors meet regularly with staff or designated representatives from the grantee organizations to monitor the status of the project and its implementation. The money granted to these organizations has been donated to the CISPES Education Fund with the express purpose of providing financial support to the designated community organizations during the tax year. Once per year our contracted program services provider in El Salvador or a staff member will travel to El Salvador to solicit grant applications from several non-profit organizations requesting funding for a particular project. These proposals are submitted to the CISPES Education Fund board for approval.| Part VI, Line 11b The organizations form 990 is reviewed by the board treasurer and a redacted electronic copy is circulated is to all directors prior to filing with Schedule B available upon request. Information included on Schedule B is also reviewed during board meetings. Part VI, Line 12c Annually board members review and sign a copy of our conflict of interest and whistle blower policies. When a conflict of interest is relevant to a matter requiring action by the board the interested persons shall call it to the attention of the board and said persons shall not vote on the matter. In addition the persons shall not participate in the final decision or related deliberation. Part VI, Line 15 As part of the annual budget approval process independent board members discuss salary level for all employees including the Executive Director and the Program Director.
