Because of the support the Foundation provides the University of Houston System, it has attracted gifts from individuals, corporations, and foundations with ties to the community. The Foundation continues to re-design and re-evaluate its fundraising campaigns to engage and attract new donors.(iii) Sources of Support: The Foundation historically has received support from a broad representative number of foundations and individuals, rather than receiving almost all of its support from the members of a single-family or small group of individuals. Form 990, Part VI, Section B, line 12c Trustees and key personnel annually review the conflict of interest policy and complete a governance questionnaire. An Interested Person must disclose in writing all material facts related to an actual or potential conflict of interest to the President and Chair of UHF. If the President is the person involved in the potential conflict, the President shall report the interest to the Chair of UHF. Until the item which is the subject of the conflict of interest has been voted upon by the non-interested Board in accordance with this Policy, an Interested Person shall refrain from any action that might affect UHF's participation in any contract or transaction that may be affected by a conflict of interest. The Board shall determine by a majority vote of the members who do not have a financial interest in the conflict of interest transaction under consideration whether a conflict of interest exists and, if so, whether UHF should nonetheless enter into the contract or transaction because doing so is in UHF's best interest.
