One of the CEO's goals that was evaluated towards her bonus award was tied to non-government fundraising towards the overall revenue budget of the organization. The Executive Committee reviews the recommendations and determines compensation. Incentive compensation is paid in the year performance goals have been met. Form 990, Part VI, Section A, line 1a The Executive Committee includes officers of the Board of Directors and the various Committee Chairs. The Executive Committee recommends actions for the approval of the entire Board. In addition, it may act on behalf of the Board to deal with urgent situations between Board meetings or when the Board delegates specific authority. Next, key staff and the Finance Committee, composed of board members and community volunteers, will review and discuss Form 990. External compensation surveys and other market data are considered when setting compensation. The Executive Committee approves merit-based and market rate adjustments. Performance reviews are conducted annually for all other officers and employees. A merit pool amount is approved annually by the Board of Directors, and merit is awarded according to performance ratings. In addition, the agency participates in a market survey of compensation for nonprofit organizations every two years. Results from this survey and other market data sources are reviewed by a committee of the Board of Directors and the HR Department. Salary adjustments are made as necessary to remain competitive with peer agencies, and a committee approves these adjustments of the Board of Directors.
