A total of 826,531 visitors came to see the exhibition including 86,483 K-12 students from the San Francisco Unified School District and surrounding districts. The Museum followed King Tut in May with the opening of the first of two exhibitions from the Musee dOrsay in Paris; Birth of Impressionism. From its gala opening on May 17 to the end of the fiscal year on June 30, Birth had over a 135,000 visitors to the exhibition and over 238,000 visitors to the deYoung Museum. At the Legion of Honor, visitors were treated with Impressionist Paris: City of Light which opened June 9th and had over 18,000 visitors by the end of June. The exhibition was drawn primarily from the Fine Arts Museums of San Francisco permanent collection and beautifully complimented the Birth of Impressionism exhibition at the deYoung. Overall the Museums had 17 exhibitions or gallery rotations.Art Education: The following is provided for the City and County of San Francisco School District with 60,000 students participating in the most recent fiscal year - Art History Teachers, Get Smart With Art curriculum, free admission and tours for chaperones and teachers, SFUSD students always free, professional development for teachers and education brochures, artist teachers for after tours, Poets in the Galleries program, Children's Theatre, Museum Ambassador program, Young At Art Festival, Education Department staff time.
