Form 990, Part I, Line 1 and Part III, Line 1 Gateway Rehabilitation Center (GRC) is recognized nationally as a leader in the treatment of drug and alcohol addictions. GRC'S mission is to help all affected by addictive diseases to be healthy in body, mind and spirit. We do this through prevention, education, treatment, and research. In 1972, GRC opened its doors to serve adults in the Pittsburgh, PA region. GRC expanded its scope of service in 1992 and now includes treatment for young adults and teens, 13 to 18. To date, GRC'S programs have served nearly 100,000 individuals - more than 11,000 of those in the youth program. GRC also provides prevention programs in schools and other venues where positive lifestyle choices and teen leadership are encouraged. The GRC network of service includes 20 licensed programs and four additional intervention programs for youth at 20 sites throughout western Pennsylvania and Ohio. Approximately 1,700 people can receive treatment daily within this network. Adults and youth can access a host of programs, including inpatient rehabilitation, medical detoxification and various levels of outpatient treatment. GRC operates two halfway houses for men and one for adolescent boys who have completed inpatient rehabilitation. GRC offers three residential treatment programs for patients (two for men, one for women) through Department of Correction and county contracts as well as a supportive housing and re-entry programs in the Beaver County Jail. Some financial assistance is available for those individuals who do not have insurance or another means to pay for treatment.
