Accordingly, no provision is made in the accompanying financial statements for federal and state income taxes. Management is not aware of any matters which would cause the Center to lose its tax-exempt status. On July 1, 2009, the Center adopted the accounting standard on accounting for uncertainty in income taxes. Management evaluated the Center's tax positions and concluded that the Center had taken no uncertain tax positions that require adjustment to the financial statements to comply with the provisions of the accounting standard. In general, the Center is no longer subject to income tax examinations by the U.S. federal, state or local tax authorities for years before 2005. The Center recognizes interest and penalties related to unrecognized tax benefits in operating and general expenses and accrued expenses in the accompanying financial statements. During the year ended June 30, 2010, the Center did not recognize any interest and penalties.
