Over $10 million of these awards came from donor-directed component funds at the DCF. The DCF unrestricted grants program funded the work of two community coalitions with over $200,000 in program grants leading to the establishment of a statewide Anti-Hunger Coalition to increase the amount of food available to Delawareans and to create the Delaware Lifespan Respite Care Network to address the needs of people caring for those with disabilities and chronic health conditions and the elderly. Unrestricted grants also supported over $300,000 in capital and equipment grants for 31 nonprofit organizations in DelawareThe Foundation's scholarship program grew by 25% and our 79 funds supported local students by awarding nearly 300 scholarships for a total of more than $300,000. When the DCF's Fund For Women was established in 1993, the original 16 Founders set two lofty goals - to recruit 1,000 Founders who would each contribute $1,000 and to fund a $1 million endowment with the Delaware Community Foundation. Due to the Fund's successful fundraising, the endowment stands at $2.3 million and the Fund has awarded a total of $1.2 million to 216 nonprofit programs dedicated to enhancing the worth and potential of women and girls in Delaware. As the Fund began its 16th year, they reached their second milestone with the addition of a 1,000th Founder.
