The program also addresses the certification and licensing requirements, and responds to new and emerging issues in behavioral health care. 92862 92152 Project Relating, Exchanging, and Capacity Building for HIV Prevention (REACH) is a Rhode Island Department of Health (HEALTH) funded project. During fiscal year 2010 (June 1, 2009 - May 31, 2010) REACH provided leadership, technical assistance, and support to the Rhode Island Community Planning Group (23 members) and Community Capacity Committee, a committee of the RICPG. During the year the following community activities were completed: conducted 2 HIV Counseling and Testing Focus Groups (31 participants); provided trainings: 2 Integrated HIV and Viral Hepatitis trainings (28 participants), 1 Integrated Counseling and Testing Services (20 participants), 1 Human Sexuality (participants 15), Qualified Professional Test Counselor (34 participants); provided capacity building/skill development trainings: Formative Evaluation (4 participants), Program and Grant Overview (6 participants), and Monitoring and Evaluation (5 participants); retained John Snow Inc to facilitate a men who have sex with men (MSM) formative evaluation, which consisted of Focus Groups (23 participants) and On-line surveys (55 surveys); REACH also funded through mini-grants to conduct formative evaluations among gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, and questioning youth, which consisted of key informant interviews with gay student advisory faculty (15 participants) and sexual minority youth (30 participants) and Cape Verdean youth (50 surveys); and funded a formative evaluation for commercial male sex workers (CMSW) using a survey tool (50 participants). During the year REACH partnered with HEALTH in redesign the former HIV 101 workshop, which is now Integrated Communicable Disease 101; REACH also redesigned the former CTRS (counseling, testing, and referral services) workshop, to create the statewide three-day Qualified Professional Test Counselor, in compliance with new state HIV testing regulations. Both courses were translated into Spanish.
