Part X: Description of Uncertain Tax Positions Under FIN 48: Schedule D, Part X, Line 2 On September 1, 2009 the Association adopted the provisions of FASB ASC 740, Income Taxes, which requires financial statement recognition and disclosure for uncertain tax positions taken or expected to be taken in a tax return. Financial statement recognition of a tax position is dependent on an assessment of a 50% or greater likelihood that the tax position will be sustained upon examination by the Internal Revenue Service, based on the technical merits of the position. Interest and penalties, if any, related to uncertain tax positions would be recorded in the statement of activities as general and administrative expense. Upon adoption at September 1, 2009 and as of August 31, 2010, management determined that the Association does not have any unrecognized tax benefits.
