Our primary work revolves around medical adherence and addressing client barriers to consistent medical care. Project ONE is confronting the growing number of AIDS cases through an evidenced based prevention program that focuses on condom use, condom negotiation, and safe sex education. Family Service's licensed clinical social workers help clients cope with the emotional confusion and pain associated with strained relationships, the trauma of separation or divorce, the devastating effects of post partum depression, loss of a loved one, parent-child conflicts and other issues. With the goal of keeping families strong, together and safe from abuse and neglect, professionally trained Volunteer Parent Aides meet regularly with the families, help relieve stress factors that can lead to abuse and support positive parent-child relationships. Volunteer Parent Aides help parents to understand the benefits of non-violent discipline techniques and to meet their children's needs.
