In fiscal year 2010 these objectives were accomplished through some 30 speaking engagements carried out by ACLUM staff and members of our Speakers Bureau, a Constitution Day program on 40 Years of Student Rights, work with ACLU of Massachusetts campus organizations, the development of specific campaigns focused on raising public consciousness about civil liberties abuses, the creation and dissemination of reports and resource material. The ACLU Foundation of Massachusetts Bill of Rights Education Project encourages teachers and middle and high school students to think critically about the constitutional issues being debated in society and the courts, seeing this as essential to the well-being of our democracy.
