The mission of the Center is to become a gathering place for the community and its visitors and as the home of the Maryville College fine and performing arts program. Clayton Center for the Arts provides opportunities for the lifelong expression and appreciation of the arts. Clayton Center for the Arts is a facility for the presentation and production of the fine arts as well as for the nurturance and development of area artists whether individuals or students in formalized programs of instruction. The Center is also a repository for the artistic and cultural heritage of the Southern Appalachian Mountains. The Center is a provider of public spaces for art, cultural, and civic activities. In all these functions, the Center is a magnet to bring together the creative, productive, and appreciative capacities of the people in the area. Committee members are encouraged to ask questions of the entries on the form. The form is not signed or submitted to the IRS until the members have had a chance to review. When a possible conflict is noted, the Administrative Assistant to the President informs the Treasurer and the Business Office. A Potential Conflict of Interest Schedule is created. The schedule is referred to by the Business Office throughout the year. The College's purchasing policy prohibits transactions that may create a conflict of interest. All faculty and staff are reminded of the purchasing policy annually. All new employees are required to complete a conflict of interest form with the Human Resources department.
