<Description>The Peninsula Music Festival (PMF) finances and presents excellent performances by a professional orchestra of dedicated musicians each summer in Door County, Wisconsin. The PMF presents a broad repertoire, promotes young artists and encourages the appreciation of music. The PMF was founded in 1953 by Lorenz Heise, Kay Wilson, and Thor Johnson and was inspired by the Early Moravian Music Festival. Currently in its 58th year, the PMF presents nine different concerts the first three weeks of August every year featuring musicians representing America's finest orchestras. Each concert features a guest artist of national stature. The PMF is the only fully professional symphony orchestra in Northeast Wisconsin. Victor Yampolsky, head of orchestras for Northwestern University has been the Conductor and Music Director for twenty five years. Additional presentations include winter chamber concerts and radio broadcasts on Wisconsin Public Radio. Additionally, the Festival provides college scholarships and summer music awards. There is also an extensive internship program available in arts administration.Over 6,000 people attend the nine concerts. In the last eighteen years the operating budget of the Festival has grown from $127,000 to almost $700,000. The endowment has grown from $450,000 to $3.3 million in ten years, though the current economy has seen a dip in many orchastra's investments, the conservative strategy by the trustees for long term stability rather than quick growth has paid off for the Festival. The PMF prides itself on focusing on the high quality of the orchestra and operating on a low administrative overhead. In the previous three years, the administrative side of the budget grew at only 1%. This past fiscal year, the administrative expenses actually declined thanks to staff pay freezes and excellent professional management. The endowment has regained much of the loss suffered by the downturn in the economy and every pledge made has been fulfilled. In fact, the board is launching a new endowment campaign to continue to increase the value of the endowment. The Festival did award a college scholarship this past year after taking a year off to protect the value of the scholarship fund and fulfill commitments to previous recipients. The Festival also supported the Gibraltar High School Music Boosters through a donation as well as having the band and choir students raise money by running the concessions at our concerts. The PMF presented nine concerts in three weeks and broadcast five different performances by the Festival throughout the State of Wisconsin on Wisconsin Public Radio. The PMF presented the February Fest - three chamber concerts in three weeks during February that feature members of the orchestra in chamber ensembles. The February Fest keeps the PMF in the public eye during the eleven months from August to August. It also allows audience members to hear the depth of talent in the orchestra by bringing orchestra members back during the "off season" to perform. The audience enjoys hearing the concerts, but also having a chance to get to know orchestra members in a more intimate setting and during a quieter time of year. We also held a benefit with the James Ehnes Trio in February, which raised money for our Wisconsin Public Radio Broadcasts. Cellist Robert DeMaine, a soloist in August 2010 and principal of the Detroit Symphony, conducted a master class for area cello students during his visit to Door County. The Festival operates with no accumulated deficit. The continuing challenges in a tourist area affect the Festival. We again saw strong price sensitivity this year and sold more of our most affordable seats. This resulted in a decrease in ticket income, but almost the same amount of ticket buyers as 2009. Door County experienced many 'first time' visitors who also became first time ticket buyers. This was a very ambitious season for the Festival and we took many artistic risks including the commissioning of a piano concerto by pianist Stewart Goodyear. Mr. Goodyear worked for one year to write a twenty five minute concerto for piano and orchestra. The world premiere was well received and a great accomplishment for the Festival. The PMF Sustaining Committee (our volunteer arm) continues to be the backbone of the organization. Over 100 volunteers provide thousands of hours of service to the organization distributing over 15,000 brochures and posters, picking up guest artists from the airport, providing food for musicians as well as all of the ushers and parking attendants for the concerts. For evaluation purposes, the PMF currently uses a three-phase evaluation system set forth by the League of American Orchestras. The components include Administrative - we look at the organizational structure, board, staff and volunteers as well as marketing and development; Financial - planning and reporting; Artistic - Repertoire, operational and professional development. This was an incredibly challenging year for ticket sales and fundraising. The PMF still achieved its goals and fulfilled its mission thanks to a strong board of directors, a well-trained administrative staff and a great core of volunteers. This trio has provided the financial resources for the Festival to grow where it counts - in the quality of its artistic product and its outreach to the people in the community it serves.</Description>

<Explanation>Effective October 1, 2009, the Organization adopted the guidance for accounting for uncertainties in income taxes which is part of Accounting Standards Codification (ASC) 740-10. This guidance increases the relevancy and comparability of financial reporting by clarifying the way organizations account for uncertainties in income tax positions taken or expected to be taken. It makes recognition and measurement more consistent as well as offering clear criteria for subsequently recognizing, derecognizing and measuring such tax positions for financial statement purposes. This adoption had no impact on the organization's financial position, changes in net assets or cash flows.</Explanation>

<Explanation>Schedule I, Part I, Line 2: The Peninsula Music Festival, Inc. awards a three year, $1,000 per year scholarship each year to a graduating senior who desires to further his or her education in music. The recipient must be an outstanding music student, who has demonstrated his or her ability as a performer and has shown a sustained interest in music-related activities. Also, the student must major or minor in music while attending college. Peninsula Music Festival, Inc. utilizes a spreadsheet to keep track of scholarships awarded to individuals. They track the individuals who are to receive the scholarships, the dates the scholarships are awarded, the due dates of the payments and the dates the payments are made to the individuals. Checks are not written to the scholarship recipients themselves. The checks are written to and mailed to the college that the individual is attending. The Organization also provides grants to Thor Johnson Endowment Trust, a 501(c)(3) organization which is a supporting organization. These are related organizations. The organization's consolidated financial statements are audited at each year-end by an independent accountant.</Explanation>
