Our program services are Citrus County Harvest and Citrus County Blessings (formerly Blessings in a Backpack). We changed the name of the second program on June 1, 2012. Through food drives, donations and food recovery efforts, we collected 90,900 pounds of food to help support those agencies and schools in our county who serve the poor and hungry families and children in our community. We provide food for over 1000 children in our Blessings (formerly Blessings in Back Pack) progrm. We provide six meals to school children on the weekends. Results of the program that have operated for at least one full school year show dramatic effects that are attributed directly to this program. Children show improvement in attendance, test scores and good behavior. We have gone from servicing one elemenary school in our county to serving ten elementary schools in our county. The need is there and we continue to grow.
