<Description>OUTREACH - Treasures conducts strip club outreach on the 3rd Friday of every month. Annually, we visit approximately 170 strip clubs, and distribute between 5000-7000 gift bags. The gift bags are filled with cosmetics, jewelry and the simple message that the women are loved, valued and purposed, and support is available to them. Outreach is also conducted at adult entertainment conventions. Additionally, Treasures provides training to other groups seeking to develop sex industry outreach programs in their communities.</Description>

<Explanation>This letter is written in anticipation of our being assessed a late filing penalty for our organization's 2011 Form 990. We are requesting an abatement of this penalty for the reasons and circumstances outlined below. Our organization's bookkeeper timely filed Form 8868 Application for an Extension of Time to file our Form 990. Our bookkeeper has limited experience with extensions for Form 990, and she mistakenly thought the initial extension period for Form 990 was six months, as it is for Form 1120, Corporate Tax Returns. As soon as we became aware of the error, we engaged the services of a CPA to prepare the return. The 2011 Form 990 is being filed within the time we would have been allowed had an application for a second three month extension period been filed. We have taken actions to ensure that all future filings will be timely, including setting as a recurring agenda item for future April board of directors meetings the review of Form 990, as well as retaining the services of an outside firm to prepare future forms 990. Your records should indicate that Treasures Ministries has a history of timely filing the Form 990 and/or extension requests and we request that you consider this and the circumstances described above in your review of this situation. We take seriously our obligation to timely file Form 990, and hope this letter has shown that the failure to timely file Form 990 was inadvertent and not due to willful neglect. Accordingly, we respectfully request abatement of any penalty.</Explanation>
