Our hope is to: Give responsive care and practical help to each person as they move through their unique grieving process; Provide an atmosphere of respect for each person as they address their life meaning and purpose; Encourage individual growth through participation in quality services; Offer a place of solace where hope can be restored under the guidance of empathetic professionals. The following Center services are facilitated by experienced professionals who regularly receive education and training in the field of grief and bereavement: Grief counseling for individuals and families and consultations for the purpose of offering thoughtful guidance and recommendations in the areas of death, dying grief and mourning; Special interest support groups for adolescents and adults; Nello's Corner, a special support group for grieving children and their families who have experienced the death of an immediate family member; Camp Millie, a summer bereavement camp offered to children ages six through twelve who have experienced the death of an immediate family member; Professional education on loss and bereavement through presentations, seminars and workshops that provide continuing education and Act 48 credits. Each board member is expected to review the return and respond with any questions or to indicate approval of filing. She checks them in as they are returned and follows up until all are accounted for. She reviews the responses and, if there were ever a conflict, she would become aware of it immediately and resolve the issue. Due to budgetary constraints, the salary was set lower than the comparatives and there has been little change since. Any adjustments to the Executive Director's salary is determined by the President after reviewing the budget with the Executive Director. This is the only compensated officer/key employee of the organization. The full board would set the compensation based on outside research in the event that a new Executive Director were to be hired.
