I addition being the third year of the GYRD contract Chapter Two has had 27 individuals complete the program and discontinue there involvement in hard core gang violence. 24000 24000 Chapter Two Inc, was asked for the second year to provide and special project, consisting of a public private partnership between the Mayors office and the Non-Profit A Better LA. Chapter provided Summer Night Lights, an intensive evening based program, conduted at the major parks. The purspose of the program is to identify, mediate, and resolve any problems that may arise during the peak hours of 7pm to midnight, when rival gangs are known to be frequenting the park at the same time. Previous years prior to the program, the parks where often battlegrounds for gang warfare, resulting in families and unintended victims to be caught in the cross fire. Since the programs inception no fights or major issues have been resolved in the parks. 10000 10000 The mentoring program established by chapter two, has gained ground and momentum, and at the close of this fiscal year our volunteer mentors, were successfully mentoring seven young ladies, and eight young men.
