Arcadia is distinct in that all of our students-undergraduate and graduate alike-engage in integrative, real-world learning opportunities such as internships, evidence-based research, service learning, interdisciplinary study, problem-based learning, and co-curricular learning experiences that expand beyond the traditional classroom. 82% of the undergraduate class graduating in May 2011 had used their passports while they were students at Arcadia. In 2011, 375 freshman and 63 transfer students studied in 12 cities around the globe during spring break, as part of an academic (2-credit) program. 63 freshmen studied abroad during their first year, in either England or Scotland, and 648 other Arcadia students studied abroad during 2010-11. In 2009, the University adopted a "Global Connections" undergraduate curriculum that ensures immersion with global issues through study abroad or a domestic global experience. Graduate programs also include either curricular or co-curricular (e.g., pro bono service) requirements and/or opportunities for our students.
