Over 2,255 volunteers from 35 Christian, Muslim, and Jewish faith groups and community groups delivered dinners prepared off site and provided volunteers to serve dinner and staff the shelter from the opening at 6:00 pm until paid staff arrive to supervise the shelter from 9:00 pm to 7:00 am. A cold breakfast with orange juice and fresh milk is provided. Free clothing and showers are provided twice a week. Referrals are made to other health and human services agencies. Our collaboration with local agencies and the City of Santa Fe has resulted in the Santa Fe Resource and Opportunity Center, a building providing a central location for services to the homeless. F990_P06_S0B_L15 Form 990, Part VI, Section B, Line 15 VI.15 The process for determining compensation: The executive director's salary was set in 2011 by obtaining the compensation levels of the full time directors at two comparable 501 (c)(3) organizations in Santa Fe and setting a comparable salary (without benefits) within that range. We are also listed on GuideStar. Our 990 was filed late because I was confused about the filing deadline (which I thought was December 15), and my request for an extension was rejected on November 27. I am the volunteer treasurer and we have a volunteer bookkeeper but no support staff in order to make our donations go as far as possible in helping the homeless. We have only one administrator, who oversees the shelter operations. Our other staff are part-time and work from 9 pm to 7 am overseeing the homeless persons staying in our shelter.
