Accordingly, no provision is made in the accompanying financial statements for federal and state income taxes. Management is not aware of any matters which would cause the Center to lose its tax-exempt status. Management evaluated the Center's tax positions in accordance with the accounting standard on accounting for uncertainty in income taxes and concluded that the Center had taken no uncertain tax positions that require adjustment to the financial statements to comply with the provisions of the accounting standard. In general, the Center is no longer subject to income tax examinations by the U.S. federal, state or local tax authorities for tax years before 2007. The Center recognizes interest and penalties related to unrecognized tax benefits in administrative and general expenses and accounts payable and accrued expenses in the accompanying financial statements.
