This is achieved by encouraging a greater collaboration between scientists who dedicate their lives to studying the world we live in and filmmakers who have the power to interpret and expose this knowledge, ultimately making science accessible and stimulating to a broader audience. Our goal is to draw attention to the sciences, whether it is through art or community outreach efforts. In 2012, Imagine Science Films Corp held its 5th Annual New York Imagine Science Film Festival from November 8-16, 2012 with one of the largest film programs largest to-date, and including over 100 films from 20 different countries. With new events, panels and receptions, the 2012 festival offered an exciting nine days filled with science and cinema. Memory, the brain and dreams were the program themes, with evenings devoted to avant-garde science shorts, documentaries, real footage from lab experiments, discussions about humanizing science through its depiction in film, and an afternoon of child-friendly science based films.ISFF screenings took place at venues throughout the five boroughs of New York, opening at Museum of Moving Image November 8 and closing at School of Visual Arts (recently reopened) on November 16. Other venues include indieScreen, Cobble Hill Cinemas, The Wooly, Anthology Film Archives, the New York Hall of Science, CUNY Graduate Center, The Bell House, and the New York Academy of Sciences. We also had our first partnership with the New Jersey Science museum, the Liberty Science Center.Our main sponsors included Science/AAAS, Nature Publishing Group and Vimeo. Google, Center for Inquiry, Stevens Institute of Technology, Chroma Technology.For 2012, approximately 2,000 people attended the screenings and over 80,000 visited our website for the year. In addition, four awards totaling $5,500 were given out to five recipients for the Nature People's Choice, two AAAS Scientist Awards and the Imaginal Disc Visual Science Award.After establishing a partnership with the University College Dublin in 2011, Imagine Science Films held its first ever Satellite festival in June 2012 all around Dublin for one entire week. We also partnered with Google Europe to bring science films around the city in a Cinema Mobile Truck.
