In FY 2013, awareness of the brand from Take Me Fishing communications increased: among those with a general interest in the outdoors, logo recall more than doubled to 46% and recall of the phrase "Take Me Fishing" grew to 41% from just 12% the previous year. Take Me Fishing advertising scored a solid 76.6 out of 100 in its ability to influence readers' decisions to go fishing. This year, RBFF's press outreach translated into 713 million impressions. Social media exposure grew dramatically, recording more than 181,000 Facebook "Likes" and Twitter followers. 1806543 633576 Boating and Fishing Stakeholder Engagement - This combined initiative focuses on developing products and programs and providing research and communications to industry stakeholder groups about RBFF activities. This initiative also encompasses RBFF's presence at numerous industry stakeholder events. - Education - The Education Initiative was made part of the broader Boating and Fishing Stakeholder Engagement Initiative in FY 2012. Each year, RBFF awards grants to organizations dedicated to educating and engaging children in the outdoors, particularly in boating, fishing and aquatic conservation, with a required outreach to minorities and underserved communities. This year, new grants were awarded to five organizations, which together reached more than 125,000 young people.- RBFF also partnered with 66 corporations and NGOs which featured our Places to Boat & Fish embeddable map on their websites. 1767675 52444 States Initiative - RBFF helps states target lapsed anglers, encourage them to purchase fishing licenses, and do their part to support conservation efforts. This year's efforts generated over $1.1 million in registration fees for 15 participating states.- RBFF brings together state fish and wildlife marketing trends, strategies and success stories at its annual State Marketing Workshop. Unique site visitors rose to almost 6 million in FY 2013, an increase of 13 percent.- Mobile TakeMeFishing.org - Site visits to the mobile, smartphone version of TakeMeFishing.org more than doubled from the previous year. The Take Me Fishing Boat Ramp App is another recent smartphone innovation. The app identifies and directs users to conveniently located boat ramps from its database of 35,000 boat ramps nationwide. Progress reports include the following five distinct sections: 1. General Grant Information - date of report, report period, grant project period, name of grant recipient and grant recipient contact person. 2. Progress in Accomplishing Goals & Objectives - goals and objectives (actual) which are expected to correspond to the goals and objectives (planned) of the approved grant application. 3. Difficulties Encountered - information on specific reasons why goals and objectives were not met and resolution/schedule of corrective action plan. 4. Financial Status - detailed line item report (per grant application) which compares actual (year to date) expenses to budget (yearly operating) planned expenses with a final indication of the unspent line item dollars. 5. Activity Anticipated Next Reporting Period - work planned for next reporting period. In addition to submitting scheduled progress reports, all sub-grantees were required to submit an annual report summarizing accomplishments as well as explaining any milestones not accomplished along with two copies of all printed products and news articles published about the project, as detailed in the sub-grant agreements. Form 990, Part VI, Section B, line 11 The 990 will be reviewed in detail by the President and the Vice President of Finance & Administration. It will then be posted to a web portal for review by the full Board of Directors prior to filing. Forms are reviewed by the VP of Finance & Administration to ensure compliance.
