In June 2012, a team of 10 architects, engineers, and surveyors traveled to south eastern Gabon to update a master plan for Bongolo Hospital as well as design a new outpatient facility and to do a comprehensive review and re-design of the hosptial's waste water system. Bongolo Hospital has been serving the poor in southwestern Gabon for over 30 years with quality healthcare in pediatrics, adult medicine, surgery, and eye surgery. 54899 1828 654 In October 2012, EMI organized a team to design an orphanage outside of Les Cayes, Haiti for God's Vision for Haiti - a small, faith based ministry run by Haitian nationals who are excited to be used by God to help those who have lost their parents. A team of 8 design professionals developed a plan for their campus to include homes, a school, dining hall, and a community center. The team also developed materials to be used in communicating the vision and in helpng to raise funds for the construction of the campus. 54899 1828 654 In September 2012, a team of three engineers traveled to Sierra Leone on short notice to provide support to Living Water International that was facing a cholera outbreak crisis. LWI has been serving the people of Sierra Leone by installing and maintaining clean water supplies as well as providing training on proper hygiene techniques. Engineering Ministries International will enter into no contract or transaction with a related party, unless: (1) the material facts of the conflict of interest and the transaction are known to the board of directors and the board authorizes the transaction by a majority votes of its members, excluding any interested parties, and (2) the contract or transaction is fair to Engineering Ministries International. Form 990, Part VI, Section B, line 15 The independent board reviews and approves the CEO'S salary. Currently, officers' salaries are reviewed by the CEO. The independent board of directors reviews the compensation criteria of all employees by comparing the current salary structures of both the ministry world and design field world. From there EMI scales back the salary levels using 4 criteria: 1. years of experience, 2. education, 3. professional capability and 4. pastoral ability Compensation decisions are recorded in the board minutes and compensation packages are reviewed periodically for appropriateness.
