Save The Bay works throughout Narragansett Bay, its watershed, and the coastal waters to safeguard the environmental health of the Bay ecosystem and peoples' right to use and enjoy Narragansett Bay. The program effectively serves to prevent pollution, restore the Bay's natural habitats: salt marshes, fish runs, eelgrass beds, scallop spawning, and coastal buffers. We monitor water quality, advocate for sound and responsible land use, Bay management, laws and policies, and sustainable development. Essential to Save The Bay's protect programs are our Waterkeeper programs, Narragansett Baykeeper and South County Coastkeeper. The program strives to create academic success and future Bay Stewards. Save The Bay's education program uses many resources to introduce students to the wonders of Narragansett Bay, including; two coast guard certified education vessels, Save The Bay's Exploration Center and Aquarium, two classrooms/labs at our Bay Center in Providence, in addition to equipment used to bring Narragansett Bay into student classrooms or along the shoreline. 61211 0 0 Save The Bay's Connect program brings together and informs individuals and organizations with the goal of developing a shared vision for the ecological recovery and sustainable management of the Narragansett Bay region.
