A training program for agricultural cooperative directors included 74 participants, and CCCDs co-op leadership conference had over 128 attendees. That led to the incorporation of new cooperatives, the creation of new jobs and saving jobs, both directly and indirectly. CCCD is one of only few cooperative development Centers dedicated to using the cooperative model to fuel economic development in distressed communities. Such projects particularly reach out to immigrant in under-served communities. Projects in Lompoc and in Richmond use the worker cooperative model to create jobs.
